It’s hard to say what we should expect from Dante Exum, as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2014 draft still carries plenty of question marks as he enters his third NBA season. The biggest reason for that, of course, is that Exum missed all of last season while recovering from a torn ACL, meaning he won’t have played in a game in nearly 15 months by the time this year’s preseason schedule rolls around. That wouldn’t be a huge problem if Exum hadn’t been so anonymous as a rookie, but he really didn’t accomplish much in his first taste of NBA action, averaging just 4.8 points and 2.4 assists per game despite starting 41 of his 82 games. Exum is still just 21 and supremely talented, but Fantasy owners can’t expect much from him this season, especially with George Hill firmly entrenched as the starter. Exum could be worth a late-round flier on Draft Day, but you probably won’t get much out of him this season.
