Jordan Spieth is a world-class golfer and that’s good, because he’s not a world-class speller.

Ahead of The Barclays at Bethpage Black in New York, Spieth took on spelling bee champion Jairam Hathwar in a spelling and putting competition. The rules were, the more words you spelled correctly, the closer to the hole you would putt from and the more you spelled incorrectly, the farther away from the hole you would putt from.

Spieth’s one of the world’s best putters, but even his skills with the flatstick couldn’t overcome his issues with spelling.

Zoysia? C’mon, Jordan you’ve got to get the golf-related one. Hathwar can now say he defeated Jordan Spieth in a putting competition, which is something very few people in the world can say.
