So the weather in Indianapolis on Friday night was pretty ugly …

Scary stuff, especially when flash floods are involved. On the baseball front, Friday’s Triple-A tilt between the visiting Louisville Bats and home-standing Indianapolis Indians was of course postponed because all the inclement weather. The deluge eventually made its way from the field to the dugout to the clubhouse. Rather that fleeing for higher ground, the visiting Bats made the most of the prevailing atmospheric conditions.

First, a rousing round of “Flotation Device Home Run Derby” …

All arms. Lucky it went out. Next, some leisured Phelpsing …

And then we reached the “reenactment of a scene from a stupendously overrated film” portion of the evening …

Good work, Bats. Beats resorting to the hackneyed slip-and-slide tarp routine. May your playing surfaces forever be dry.
