As a passionate and prideful college football fan, you’ve already done your preparation for next weekend. The schedule, as Jon Solomon noted here, is one of the best opening weekend slates in decades. On Saturday, “gameday proper” if you will, the first of three games between preseason top-25 opponents is No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 15 Houston in NRG Stadium.

Like most kickoff events, the ticket distribution for this “neutral site” game (in the home of the Houston Texans) has a limited number of student vouchers for both schools. Proximity has made this kickoff game a more affordable option for students at Houston, spiking the demand for those precious vouchers.

Houston planned for a 5 p.m. CT distribution this Saturday, a week ahead of kickoff. By 2 p.m., the “line” had turned into a tailgate party. Beer pong, corn hole, lawn chairs and tents are all on display in this video, posted long before those who waited the longest received their prize, a chance to see the Cougars take on the Sooners next Saturday.

Tom Herman even said he’d pick up the pizza for all the fans waiting on tickets.
