There is nothing quite like a goal that comes after some tremendous build up. We’ve seen it over the years from the biggest of teams to the smallest, and one that instantly comes to my mind is Argentina’s in the 2006 World Cup.

This past weekend, we saw two more fantastic ones.

UCLA and Barcelona each had one, in far different circumstances. But which was better? Decide for yourself. Here are the 21 straight passes and a goal from Ivan Rakitic in Barca’s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao:

UCLA’s Jason Romero on Friday in the 1-1 draw against Maryland after 22 passes.

Both sensational goals. Now, UCLA’s was right off the bat, with Maryland not even touching the ball. On the other hand, Barca’s was the winning goal and included a lovely cross from Arda Turan.

In the end, I’ve decided. It’s a draw (Enter angry comment about how there are draws in soccer below).
