So this is where the term “lucky dog” comes from.
The Bolivian racing event, El Rally Codasur, was going smoothly until it received an unexpected visitor.
As a car was speeding along a rural dirt road, a local dog decided it would be a good time to take a leisurely stroll down the middle of the road.
Bystanders noticed what was about to happen and tried to signal to the car, but to no avail. The car barreled toward the unsuspecting pup toward what seemed like an inevitably disastrous outcome.
But that’s when fate stepped in.
Some might say the bump in the road caused the car to elevate just enough to clear the dog. I like to think the driver saw the animal and hit some built-in “obstacle aversion” button specifically designed for this task.
Either way, that dog has quite a story to tell.
