At this point, we have to be past talking about “potential” when it comes to Derrick Williams. Still just 25 years old, Williams put together another underwhelming season in New York last year, his third team. Even on the occasions when Williams got the opportunity to start, he averaged just 13.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, hardly numbers worthy of getting excited over. Williams may be able to challenge for a starting role in Miami, but it’s hard to see him breaking out at this point. If you still want to bet on his talent, Williams could be worth a late-round flier, but don’t expect much from him.
