There has been no stranger story this preseason than that of Ladarius Green . It came to at least a temporary resolution with this tweet from Ian Rapoport:

Green’s placement on the PUP makes him undraftable in most leagues. I already had plenty of questions about how he’d adapt to the change in scenery with so little practice. Now that we know he’ll likely miss at least 50 percent of the Fantasy Football regular season, there just is no reason to waste a roster spot. It’s possible Green will become a popular waiver wire selection later in the year.
The bigger Fantasy impact of this move is the effect on the Pittsburgh Steelers passing game. After getting excited about both Green and Sammie Coates earlier in the summer, the hype machine has now turned it’s eyes on Eli Rogers . Yes, that’s right, yet another receiver not named Markus Wheaton .
The truth is that Wheaton is the best bet to produce something resembling No. 4 WR numbers for this unit. That’s about the best you can hope for. I don’t see a use for Jesse James except for possibly as an in-season streamable option. The are far better options with more upside at the end of your draft.
The real takeaway is that this passing offense comes down to two players. Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown . Brown could absolutely set a record for receptions in a season if he and Roethlisberger stay upright for 16 games. Even so, I’m having a harder time seeing how Roethlisberger can deliver on his No. 6 QB ADP. I’ll be passing on Roethlisberger and anyone else involved in this air attack not named Antonio Brown.
If you were planning on drafting Green late in drafts, here are some other tight ends you should consider instead:
|Heath’s TE Rankings 11-20|
|13.||Austin Seferian-Jenkins||Tampa Bay|
|18.||Vance McDonald||San Francisco|
|19.||Jared Cook||Green Bay|
