You might need more than a good pair of kicks to take down Nick Saban and the defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tied in the opening week of the season, but at least USC has the good pair of kicks. They can worry about the rest later on.

When the Trojans got finished with practice on Wednesday, they all had a new pair of Jordan 12s (USC colors, of course) in the locker room. They are not the best Jordans ever made (those would be the Jordan 11s), but they’re a great look for a team that pretty much always looks great.

Here is the unveiling.

Player reaction was pretty great, too — from both sides of the USC-UCLA rivalry (more on that in a second). Trojans Dominic Davis and Chris Hawkins were both fired up to get the new shoes.

UCLA’s Takkarist McKinley had a different viewpoint though.

USC beat UCLA 41-20 last season.
