D.J. Augustin once seemed like he might be on his way out of the league, but he has re-emerged over the last few years as the ideal backup point guard. Augustin can work as the primary creator for second units, or he can play off the ball as a spot-up shooter next to your starter; and if the starter goes down with an injury or is otherwise ineffective, Augustin is more than capable of stepping in. He showed all of that while averaging 11.7 points and 4.7 assists per game following a trade to the Nuggets last season, and he should be capable of stepping up if the Magic need him. Going into the season, however, he shouldn’t be on your radar on Draft Day.
