For the first time as a visiting player, Jay Bruce played a game at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati on Monday. Bruce spent just over eight years of his career with the Reds before being traded to the Mets at the deadline.

Bruce was very productive for a long time with the Reds, so it’s no surprise the Cincinnati fans showered him with cheers prior to his first at-bat Monday. Check it out:

The team also played a tribute video to Bruce on the scoreboard, and you really have to see this. It’s fantastic. It includes some of Bruce’s biggest moments on the field with the Reds, but the video focused primarily on his charity work and all the people in the community he’s helped. Give it a watch. You won’t be disappointed.

Outstanding. Well done, Reds. Everything Bruce has done for folks in the community is far more important than anything he’s done on the field.
