Nebraska gave a touching tribute to former punter Sam Foltz, who was killed in a car accident this offseason along with former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler, on Saturday by taking a delay of game by going onto the field with only 10 men for the first punt of the game.
The Huskers honored the late Foltz at multiple points during the game and had his family on hand. While Foltz’s brother was in attendance, his house was robbed of over $1,000 worth of things.
Early Sunday morning, police arrested Scott Davis after pulling him over on suspicion of DUI and found some of the items taken from the Foltz residence, including a TV and gas can with Foltz’s name on it, in the car. Davis was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, according to the Lincoln Journal-Star.
A member of the Foltz family drove out to York, South Dakota to identify the stolen items on Tuesday, and hopefully all of the stolen goods will be returned and compensation will be made for any damaged property.
