When we say that college football can be likened to a religion, we usually do so tongue-in-cheek. But not this time, not with Atlanta pastor Dr. E. Dewey Smith Jr.
Smith was ecstatic following Georgia’s 33-24 win over North Carolina in Atlanta on Saturday, praising the return of Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb. The junior rushed for 222 yards and two touchdowns, including the fourth-quarter dagger, in his first game back from a knee injury that cut short his 2015 season.
Check out the video of Smith below courtesy of @UGAFootballLive. It’s quite a site.
There aren’t enough raised-hands emojis for this.
The quality of the audio makes it hard to hear exactly what Smith is saying, but you can make out “Nick Chubb” and “200 yards” every so often, so the point seems pretty clear.
No sarcasm intended, this church is on the wish list. Chubb is back as a Heisman candidate and I am here for praising it on Sunday.
