Former NFL and Oklahoma State kicker Cary Blanchard has died at age 47, The Oklahoman reported on Wednesday.

The cause of Blanchard’s death has not been announced or reported yet. He was one of more than 4,500 former players involved in the concussion settlement that was reached with the NFL in 2013.

Blanchard played eight seasons with the New York Jets (1992-1993), Indianapolis Colts (1995-1997), Washington Redskins (1998), New York Giants (1999) and Arizona Cardinals (2000). He made 165 of his 214 career field goal attempts (77.1 percent) and was named first-team All-Pro after the 1996 season, when he successfully booted 36-of-40 field goals for the Colts and converted all five of his attempts from 50-plus yards out.
