“I guess I landed on it or something,” Flores said. “I don’t know. But ever since I got [to Washington], I can’t swing a bat.”

Flores may have fallen behind Kelly Johnson on the Mets’ depth chart at second base, but his .340/.383/.710 slash line against left-handed pitchers makes him one of their best options off the bench. Though the Mets are not scheduled to see any lefty starters this weekend against Minnesota, the Twins do feature multiple left-handers out of their bullpen. As such, the Mets could use Flores’ services if he receives a positive diagnosis on Thursday.

“I’ve never had something like that in my wrist,” Flores said. “We’ll see.”
