Don’t accuse Rickie Fowler of not supporting the United States. Fowler was one of the few U.S. upstarts who did not back out of the Olympics earlier this year, and now he will represent the America at the Ryder Cup. To mark the momentous occasion of the Olympics, Fowler got an Olympics rings tattoo with U.S. diver Sam Dorman this week.

Fowler finished T37 at the Olympics as the only American who took home a medal was Matt Kuchar with the bronze. Still, it’s clear he cherished his time in Rio.

“I think any time we get to throw red, white and blue on and represent our country, we relish the opportunity, whether it’s a Ryder Cup to a Presidents Cup,” said Fowler. “Which we get every couple years since they rotate around. But this is a new experience. I think with the time I’ve been here and seeing what it means to some of the other athletes, getting to be here for, not just the United States, but all the other countries, this is a special opportunity for sure.”

So special that he marked it with his third tattoo. Fowler’s other tattoos were for a pastor friend’s daughter and his grandfather.
