The Indians on Saturday announced that catcher Yan Gomes will miss the next six-to-eight weeks because of a non-displaced fracture of his right wrist. The injury will not require surgery.

Gomes suffered the injury while on rehab assignment in Double-A. He was working his way back from a shoulder injury that landed him on the disabled list in July.

More to come on this story.
