A few weeks back reports indicated that Tom Coughlin had met with Kim and Terry Pegula following Buffalo’s 37-31, Week 2 loss to the Jets. Naturally rumors swirled that this secret meeting was about bringing Coughlin on in either some sort of advisory role or as a potential predecessor to Rex Ryan.
With the Ryan’s team off to an 0-2 start at the time, the narrative easily picked up steam.
While Coughlin was hesitant to reveal any details of said meeting initially, he opened up about the situation, Tuesday on the CBS Sports Program We Need to Talk.

So apparently a meeting did take place, and was actually initiated by Rex Ryan himself. It’s unclear at this point why the conversation fizzled out, despite the positive vibes Coughlin had afterward.
