With the team’s outfield now consisting of Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson and Bruce, that could leave Michael Conforto as the odd man out. The 23-year-old could be part of the Mets’ outfield mix, but he also has options available and would get more regular at-bats with Triple-A Las Vegas.
Bruce, a nine-year veteran, has been a consistent player during his time in the Majors. He’s played in at least 137 games every year since 2010 and has hit 20-plus home runs in all but one season.
In 50 games for the Mets last season, Bruce hit .219 with eight home runs and 19 RBIs.
