What’s at stake: The result doesn’t matter. All that is at stake is the opportunity to impress new USMNT coach Bruce Arena with the hope of being called up in March for World Cup Qualifying matches against Honduras and Trinidad and Tobago.

What to know about the opponent? Just like the USMNT, this is a team filled with local players and no European-based ones. Jamaica’s team features MLS guys, USL players and guys from Jamaica’s league. The USMNT has MLS players and one Liga MX player.

Last game: Jamaica beat Suriname in November 1-0 in 2017 Caribbean Cup qualifying. The U.S. drew 0-0 with Serbia on Sunday in a friendly.

Last meeting: Gold Cup Semifinals on July 22, 2015 which Jamaica won 2-1.

Down two players:

Midfielders Jermaine Jones and Sacha Kljestan, two players who will surely be called up in March, were released from camp earlier this week. Jones returned to Los Angeles to join up with the Galaxy to begin preseason, while Kljestan and his pregnant wife are expecting the arrival of their son this week.

Keep an eye on: The finishing. Whether it is a friendly or an important match, scoring goals gives a team momentum and the goal scorer confidence. So getting a goal or two from Jozy Altidore or Jordan Morris, which should be enough to win, would see the team wrap up camp on a positive note. In the match against Serbia on Saturday, only Darlington Nagbe really threatened, and his efforts went wide. The team and fans would like not to have a bad taste in their mouths entering WCQ, and scoring goals would make sure that doesn’t happen. In its last four matches, the U.S. has two total goals and has failed to score in its last two — Sunday vs. Serbia and the 4-0 loss at Costa Rica in November.

Prediction: USA 2, Jamaica 0. At home, in front of a packed house in Tennessee, the U.S. finishes Jamaica off to ease the nerves.
