Given an opening Thursday night, Jay Bruce took advantage — twice. The Mets’ veteran right fielder laced a two-out RBI single in a two-run first inning, and after an a Miami error in the third, he delivered a run-scoring double in a three-run frame. Seth Lugo capitalized on the early run support, turning in a six-inning quality start, and the Mets defeated the Marlins, 6-3, at Marlins Park to jump ahead of Miami into third place in the National League East.
